So my boyfriend had a large tank going for a while but because he’s so busy stuff started to die like our puffer fish and clown fish ect. We had a spotted lobster to and without thinking about it I shut the tank down. Just the other day I found the lobster sitting by the filter alive!!! The tank is done all the corals are dead and it’s pretty gross inside the tank now. I want to save the lobster anyway I can!!! How can I do this???

Take him to a local shop so he can be re-homed, or revive the tank with water changes and cleaning. Pretty much the only options. Well, I suppose you could setup a smaller tank just for the lobster if you really wanted.

I agree do some water changes over the next few days and remove any dead coral or animals from tank.. do not restart filter without changing media and cleaning. If you want to House it in a smaller tank you will need to get that set up and cycled before moving it over.

Sounds like you want to save the lobster......
sell it on a local craigslist or forum.
Rest the tank as a lobster tank or take to pet store for in-store credit.

*****UPDATE****** well good news. Been doing water change and he went from chillin on the skimmer due to the salt levels at the bottom to back under a rock and eating. Looks like we’re gobba save him. He’s a small red lobster with white spots (can’t rememebr the proper name) but Larry is going to make it! Thank you so much for the help and advice guys.

Great to hear. Continue to monitor water, feed sparingly and ask if in dobt
Likely a hawaiian reef lobster.

I’m going to be starting a small table tank and put him in there once it’s safe to do so! Again, thanks everyone!!
