Hey guys! A few questions here.

I ordered 5 small tangs from Saltwaterfish.com. I placed my order today but I’m leaving out of town in 1.5 weeks, so I told them to deliver it 3 weeks from today.

There wasn’t a problem with that request, and they said they will check the fish every day and do a final inspection on the day of delivery.

I called the guy who used to do my tank service, and he said they are not going to do that. He said they were going to sell the fish I already paid for and replace them with new ones.

Is that even allowed??? I paid for those fish and their sizes, is it even possible for them to get all the same fish I ordered with the same sizes again?

The reason I’m asking is one (if the online stores do that, I don’t think it’s fair) also, I was kinda hoping I would be able to skip the quarantine if they would inspect them for 3-4 weeks for me. That would be much more convenient for me.

What do you guys think about all this?

Not sure on their specific policies but I'm sure they won't be individually observing your specific fish for 3 weeks

My first order from Liveaquaria, I ordered a Sixline Wrasse, however, they were having a pretty big sale and I am guessing the fish got sold before my order was filed, so they said they would send me a fish when they came back in stock. I am guessing your situation will play out similar to mine. I'm also guessing they did that to make space in their warehouse for new fish.

Lol yea they arent holding it for you , its shipped straight from wholesaler .

Seriously??!! I thought it was their responsibility to babysit individual fish for a month since they don't have anything better to do. :) :)

At the wholesale level I don't even know what % of fish would survive a month let alone sit in inventory.

Could you tell the difference between the fishes that you have ordered with the replacement fishes ?

Maybe the purchaser had the company microchip his fishies for an extra $100 each.

It's after 3pm.....I'm blaming you for me heading to the fridge for my first beer of the day. I hope you are happy with this!!

Lol. No need to be snarky. I’m just wondering if they would be able to replace them in 3 weeks, because I know live Aquaria always has tangs out of stock and in waiting lists.

At least now I know I need to quarantine them!
