Hi everyone. I'm about to take the leap into the hobby and want to make sure I'm starting from a reasonable place.

I had a saltwater tank as a young teenager (about 15 years ago) with a crappy HOB filter and I was mixing with tap water. Amazingly, things didn't go great.

Now I am trying to set myself up for success and not bite off more than I can chew. I think an AIO system would remove a lot of potential errors. Right now I'm looking at:

Reefer Max E-170 or E-260
Waterbox Marine 40.2 or 50.3 AIO

I've heard good things about all of these and am just curious what others thoughts are. People say it is easier to manage larger tanks because of dilution, but does that offset the increased maintenance from having a larger volume system?

You’ve come to the right place!

Go with what fits your space. Larger might be easier on parameters, but I think around 40 is a good starting point. If you are looking at complete systems, check out Fijicube as well.
