I placed an order on January 6th (Saturday) for almost 300$ from saltyunderground.
  • 1 x Australian Bright Green Duncans Coral Colony - 21 Heads
  • 1 x Aquacultured Australian Bright Green Duncan Coral - 16 Heads
I contacted them on January 10th (Wednesday) to find out when they will be shipping out this item. So they responded saying they will send it out Thursday to deliver on Friday and didn't send it out before because they did not want to lose the colony due to the weather condition. (THIS DID NOT HAPPEN) I contact them on Friday saying what is going on, so they said they are shipping it out on Friday to deliver on Saturday. (THE ITEM HAS NOT DELIEVERED YET)

I call FedEx to find out what is going on currently the shipment is stuck in Berkeley MO and wont be delivered until MONDAY 1/15 ! PLEASE HELP!

I will post pictures of the colonies once I receive them on Monday but I do not think they will survive this long.
My questions are as follows:
  • What would you do in situation?
  • Do you think I would be able to receive my money back ? (which is about 300$)
  • Did you ever have such a horrible experience?
I honestly am so frustrated that someone who works with livestock is so irresponsible.

@ksfulk thanks for talking about your situation & I hope this vendor is able to work with me.
@smiley28 I believe the vendor should have waited to ship the corals out on Monday 1/15 instead over the weekend especially since I ordered them last week January 6. So I believe it is the vendors fault since he was so worried about losing the corals which he stated in two emails.

@geniusgio if the vendor held off the shipment till Thursday/Friday he could have communicated that he will send it on Monday 1/15 instead of sending it over the weekend. Nobody asked him to send it to me over the weekend and I am supposed to take responsibility for this?

@geniusgio your right common sense goes along way, someone who ships corals for over many years should know how to communicate to customers and when too ship. I definitely will NOT purchase livestock online anymore.

UPDATES: One colony is 100% dead and the other one is 80% dead. Both have continuous slime production and the heads are completely dying off and not opening. Honestly it is so sad to see two beautiful colonies die due to such a horrible delay in shipping. I am still waiting for a response from the vendor.
