Have an Elos 120xl and it has a chip on the side of the tank at the bottom. Since the tank has a double glass bottom, is it fine? Photo attached

I have run tanks in the past that had chips like that. I’ll be honest it’s a risks. It’s a weak point at the end of the day. At least it isn’t in a corner and doesn’t look to have spidering. Just know there is a risk with a chip like that.

It comes down to your risk tolerance. Is it in a basement with a concrete floor or is it going to be on the second story of a house. One is no big deal if it pops the other could be a huge bill to clean the water.

It’s gonna be on the first floor. Carpeted lol. The people at Elos says it looks fine. The guy is selling me the tank and stand for less than $500 so I thought it’s a pretty good deal. Considering they cost well over 2k.

If you are ok with it go for it. I ran a chipped tank for 5+ years no problems but just wanted you to know the risks.
