Do you keep your power heads on the same side or opposite? I've seen both and I know it might come down to preference, but if you have two power heads sinked together is it more beneficial to run on the same side to have the waves going the same way or going opposite ways??

That really depends what you mean by powerheads. If you are referring to something like vortechs, then I think utilizing both sides is the best option. I think the choice of using one side is generally just for aesthetic/placement purposes.

what about 1 on the side and 1 on the back :) .... that said i run 1 on each side. also i run them counter to each other

I would go with one on both sides. Better random flow. I run a XF130 from side to side and 2x MP-10s from back to front. I'm "trying":) to keep SPS corals so I run allot of flow.
