Hi everyone! I'm new to R2R but been in the hobby for about 3 years now. Been looking at a lot of other large build threads getting ideas for mine. I've just recently moved and decided that instead of moving my 90g reef from my parents place; it was time to upgrade and go bigger cuz why not, right.
So I got the tank. its actually being delivered today. Its a 180g dual overflow that i plan to plumb through the first floor down to the basement where I will have a 100g stock tank as a sump for my filter socks and skimmer. I've got an ASM G1-X skimmer that i use in my 90g that's still running at my parents place. Not sure it will be able to handle the water volume of this new system though.
My lighting is also gonna be a hand me down from my old tank. I've got a 4 bulb 48" Maxspect light that i plan on suspending over the tank but not sure how high it needs to be to get good light quality and coverage.
I'm gonna be a couple weeks out on even starting to get it plumbed. Got some repairs to the house that have to be made before the tank can get set up so I've got time to save and get the right stuff for this system. Help me build an awesome reef tank with your help and suggestions.
Thanks
Sam
