It would be super telling for different lights, especially since they all boast about the spectrum output but none have definitive answers on the spectrum that actually hits the tank bottom and rock l she's we put our corals on. It would be cool to see how par and spectrum both are affected by the depth of water.

ooo very neat idea. I was thinking shine light through tank water, maybe there would be band-gaps for what is present? I dunno; too many other things - obviously I was watching too much late night YouTube...

Glad I checked my phosphate yesterday. I put GFO in my DIY reactor instead of the Seachem stuff last week... It was enough to bring my phosphate from 0.5 to 0.03. I guess I'll only run it an hour a day or so. I dont want to bottom out.
I put in one of those TopFin Nitrate absorbing filter pads so we'll see if I can bring down the borderline 100 Nitrate (I was being kind to myself last test).

I've had about the same amount of GFO in my sump in a bag on and off; it never did this to the water though...

Quality product; it can take it. I was really just trying to get the shade to fall off. Also; If these will be on other people's tanks I want to make sure they're not a point of failure!

Speaking of failure... I guess my PO4 purge wasn't great for some of my sps... I think 7 frags have gone white...
Guess the PO4 dip was just too much for some.
I didn't think what I did would change the levels so much... Ive had a bag in the sump for ages and havent seen anything... put it in a reactor and the GFO goes berserk...

Thanks! Super excited! Trying to get more sales in the pipe... Small burn-rate but just the same it'd be nice to start recouping some of the startup costs so I can move-onto cooler stuff...
I just bought a K7mini and it came the other day so I can develop better fitting shades.

Bed adhesion is becoming an issue as the winter ambient temps get colder so I'm finding the need for enclosures / actively heating my printer area.

I may need to get some thin plexi and hinges. The 400x400 printer comes out over the edge of the desk by a little so ill need to get creative with him...
But yes. super easy to DIY one. If I don't plexiglass the whole area ($$), I'll do something with extruded aluminum C or U channel from the hardware store with printed fittings for closer enclosures; enough for the bed heater to heat.
I havent ran into electrical issues from the heat yet.
