Finally got a Nitrate test kit and found they were insane. Guess I shouldn't dump my copepod cultures into the tank the night before I test. Also need to clean the fuge pad because the sump water level is higher then I'd like and its burning filter paper...

If I let the pad hang there for awhile do you think the copepods are smart enough to move down until they're in the water? Not sure I want to murder them all.

I actually use the filter roller paper; at 100microns it works ok; still a lot of gunk gets through. I suppose I should look into it.

So when I took out the extra pipe on my return I left the 3/4" pipe 3/4 out of the water. makes a lot of splashing... could he be trying to go up river?
