Sorry Sam. I know your name isn't Tunze...
oh man... can you at least go and edit those images smaller for less scrolling? heh.
lol... nice powerhead... nvm; new page.

messing around trying to get my Galaxy Hydros to dim on a schedule...
so far so good... needs more testing...
will probably release the part links, wiring diagrams, and mounts I design if anyone else wants todo similar.
I was trying to read my VC1/2 ports from my Apex but I think they're shot...
now am just using a config with brightness by time:
C:
BrightnessSettings ch1SettingsArr[] { // Brightness setting for the Blues
  {0, 8, 30, 0 }, //index, hour, minute, brightness
  {1, 10, 0, 25 },
  {2, 12, 0, 95 },
  {3, 16, 30, 85 },
  {4, 19, 0, 15 },
  {5, 22, 0, 0 }
};

so we got my kid a watch thinking great he can schedule his own playdates... and he did... but he doublebooked... so even the easy stuff is hard... >.<
cant throw money at a fix...

I think my wife was disappointed I didn't go off the rails and get another tank when she was gone...

Think I finally figured out the code for my Galaxy Hydro controller! Even added a button to turn on Ch 1 at 10% intensity for 5 mins. will solder it all up on a board and print a case for it!
The configurations dont even need to be in order now. I just put in an array of times with desired brightness for both channels and the Arduino works out a smooth gradient of dimming for the lights.

Next I need to build a frame for them. I'm going to do the 2 galaxy hydros, the 3 Noops and the 2 T5s for lighting the DT.
Making this move because I plan to put glass tops on the tank and am worried the glass will reduce par.

If you made it this far I also wanted to mention I had the extremly good fortune of winning the Riptide XR15 Blue and am kind-of besides myself in stokery. Plan to replace the 2nd hand Reef Breeder I have on the frag tank or replace the frag tank with a 60 gallon frag tank. Dunno, so stoked. Really want to replace the 120 with a 210 or 300+; hah; pretty sure my wife would notice the 2 extra feet. Also not sure I could get it down into the basement.
