Sand bed question

I have 2 75 gal tanks that housed my beloved cichlids until things went bad(tale for another day) and I use one to cure live rock. The other still has about 40 lbs of cichlid sand still in the bottom. I hate to throw it out I spent a fortune on it.Could I theoretically use it for another saltwater reef setup

You probably could use it but you would need to clean it thoroughly first. It might be too fine and blow around the tank.

It would definitely need to be cleaned but it is more coarse than the sand we use now so I think it would be ok.Thanks for the input
