Has anyone kept one of these before? Is it possible to keep these guys in the hobby?

They are not easy to keep in captivity. And the tropical species don't get traded in aquarium hobby as a result.

Voracious sand sifters, most aquariums would not have the microfauna sufficient to maintain these guys...

Think of it like a more needy sand sifting star, if you have a very large system they will do better but still likely to starve. If you try, be sure to document it here so we can all follow along.

Kay. First I better wait for populations to build up, then I won’t buy fish that eat microfauna, then I will add more sand, then actually buy the creature, and document everything. I have 65 gallon reef so I won’t have a problem.

That’s probably not enough space tbh

You need a large amount of sand and space. And even then you would need to start with a very small one. Problem is you’ll never see it.

You know what, I don’t think I will be getting one. If I find one for cheap and my tank is suitable at the time maybe but I am not gonna put extra work into it.
