I pulled some sand from my sump to put in my QT for my leopard wrasse.

Now the QT is empty, I want to put the sand back in my sump.. is it a bad move?
Only used with prazipro, no copper.

no signs of ich from the fish that was in QT with the sand.

Should I just dump it? or can I put it back in my sump?

Clean the heck out of it(bucket ten times more hose water then you think you need swishing it method) .. sun dry it and it will be fine.

prazipro is generally considered reef safe anyway, I wouldnt worry about that to much. I've used it before in the DT. cleaning is more for any waste that settled in it. And as tough as ich can be...it cant be dry out in the sun ;)

I would keep the sand in the introduction tank or sump and keep it ready for new fish.
Or else just dump it. In my Q tank I avoid sand and rocks as it can affect copper levels, so I put the sand in a Tupperware and use it when I have sand dwelling fish and take out rinse and dry and keep nearby till when I need it again

thanks! Normally I wouldnt use sand in the QT but since I had a leopard wrasse in there, I needed sand

I will clean and dry and save it!
