Hi everyone,
So im about 3 years new to this hobby and im just confused about something. I started my 220g tank with Kolorscape Washed Play Sand (after watching videos and reading posts from tons of reefers saying they use it etc) and Carib Sea sand. Nothing's seems to stay alive in my sand bed. Nassarious snails die after a few days, lost 2 sand sifter gobies, a fighting conch, and 3 sea hares. The rest of my tank is fine, running 3 years, corals, nems, 20 or so fish, shrimp etc. All my levels are normal (ph 8.2/8.3, no ammonia or nitrates, normal alk, cal, dkh etc. Temp 79.) I gravel vac at 2 week water changes. But every time I add something that lives in/on the sand, it seems to perish super fast. Any thoughts? Thank you!

I'm not sure why, but it says right on the bag "Not for use in Aquariums"
I don't care if others tell me it's OK, if the manufacturer says don't use it, I wouldn't.
Does anybody here use this sand?

You may want to send in a ICP test just to make sure. Inverts are more sensitive to metals and sand could be leaching, or just trapping from other source.

IMO, I’d never use something not meant for a reef tank. And if it’s only livestock in the sand dying, I think it’s probably the sand.
