Sand Help! Keeping my sand white!

I had a problem with brown sand that strangely enough went away after adding adding a bio-pellet reactor to my setup. I found that after about a month or so of those little pellets tumbling away I got rid of my sand bed issues and my glass stays almost spotless. I had a little come back after switching from T5 to LED lighting, but I assume that will balance itself out in a month or two. The most annoying part is waiting to see if your tactics works. It's important to not change too much too fast, because you risk never finding out the true solution if you happened to stumble over a fix.

I agree with the above mentioned post. I too had the brownish colored sand and bubbles forming on it. I tried a lot of what was mentioned to no avail. I added a bio pellet reactor and was amazed at the difference it made in less than a month. Far less algae growth on the glass and the sand was much cleaner. Not spotless but well on it's way. Then the tank crashed due to an outside influence.....
