Sand in with the new cycle

Evening everyone. While I am waiting on my RODI to get here, I was thinking about what goes in the tank. When I start the new cycle, should I put sand in as well, or just do the water first? Someone suggested that I put sand and live rock in while doing the cycling

Yes, put the sand and LR in before the water, if you put sand in after (huge amounts at a time) it can send the tank into a ‘mini’ cycle
