I’m fairly new to reef tanks so I apologise if this is in the wrong place.

my tang has around 8 spots on its tail. None of my other fish have any. They are only on its tail and look like grains of sand. I have attached a picture but she is a little camera shy. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Looks like he may have lymphocystis. A viral infection. It's not curable but is manageable. Try to maintain a rich diet and great water quality.

Agree with @Crabs McJones
Yellow Tangs present Lympho a lot. For helping the fish's immune system to suppress this virus, adding Beta Glucan to the food can help. I mix 7-8 different frozen fish cubes. Let them "slump" in the fridge in a bowl. Strain off the excess liquid as it can cause your nitrates and phosphates to spike. Mix into the food a 1/2 capsule of BG. Can add a scoop of Focus if you want it thicker. The mix will stay good in the fridge for a few days. My fish love the mix.
