Sand on Corals

Hi! Yesterday did a water change that was a little messy--ended up have a few grains of sand on each of my corals (Duncan, zoanthid, star polyp). Do I need to remove or should I let it be? Thanks

Just take a baster or feeder tube and lightly blow the sand off.

No should be fine. I have to use a turkey baster on my plates and acans after each water change/sand stirring. All are doing fine. Just dont be heavy handed with it.

I have a 3 year old Melarus Wrasse. He spits sand on corals daily. They will be fine.

I have a yellow headed goby who loves to dump sand on corals. Although he is the main culprit in killing my aleveopora. Most corals will be fine with sand getting on them as long as you blow the sand off from time to time. Certain corals like alevo and gonis dont tolerate sand well on top of them.

Good news is, zoas and gsp are pretty difficult to kill in general, sand wont harm them. Duncans deal with it just fine, or at least mine does.

Blow them off or leave. I think coral have a way to clean themselves off. Like the way they move to eat. But I would dump a pile of sand on them and leave it.
