Hello all. Got a problem and trying to see if my theory will work. I got really fine argonite from my LFS. I know it’s not wise, but my fault for not verifying the size. But the problem is that even on the lowest flow setting, my gyro is lifting sand up and in circulati in the tank. Athis point, I feel i either need to replace the sand with a heavier sand (which I don’t want to do), or remove the sand and go bare bottom (not desired but first choice over replacing sand). My theory , or question is this, can I purchase a heavier sand to place on top? Depth is only 1.25 - 1.5 inches so I have some room to add more. This will keep costs down rather than replacing As I really don’t want to spend anymore setting the tank up.
will I still kick up the fine argonite when vacuuming sand?
thoughts?
