sand question

Early next week. i'm headed to florida for a few days. plan on getting a few small tubs of sand/mud from the coast. problem is my tank will not be set up for at least a month, maybe a little longer. New house is taking longer than planned.
How do I keep this relatively alive.. for the time until I get the tank set up..

you would have to spread it out thin no deeper than say 1 inch or inch and a half and have saltwater over it with a power head. I would say not worth the effort...If stuff starts to die in the sand during transfer you would have toxins.
