Sand questions

Rule of thumb is a pound per gallon but you could go more if you like

Also depends on grain size how high it will be. Not just a blanket pound per gallon answer. Oolite you will need 15-20 pounds more to have the same sand bed height as a 50lb bag of special grade.

ZERO!

sand holds onto nitrates and phosphates.

I have barebottom with reflective mirror mounted on the dryside of the bottom. Reflective light is a w e s o m e

So much light you dont even notice there is no sand

.

BRS and Marine Depot both have sand calculators on their sites.

Plug in the type of sand, your tank dimensions, and how deep you want the sand bed to be and BAM!
