Looking for sand recommendations for our Waterbox 220. Looking to have about an inch of sand bed. It's going to be a mixed reed tank and we definitely want gobies, so I'm guessing no sand grain that's too big. Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

I highly recommend the Tropic Eden sands... beautiful and very consistent fir grain sizes. It can be difficult to find, though. The Reef-Flakes size is good for gobies...I have a Diamond Goby and he can sift it easily... and my leopard wrasse had no problems burying in it nightly.

Premium Aquatics is usually the only place you can find this sand.

I used the CaribSea Fiji Pink sand. It comes as live sand but I would recommend rinsing, at least a little. I didn’t rinse and I’m still pulling cloudy spots out of my tank a year later.

Good info on this vendor site regarding grain sizes.

I like tropic eden products as well, currently reef flakes, I have goby and wrasse no issues. I like miso flakes best, but it did blow around too much.

I used tropic eden on my upgrade last year and I love it!
