Sand rinse

So I am rinsing my brand new dry sand. Been at it for 15-20 min and it’s still cloudy. I do have a garden nozzle so the water sprout is concentrated.

am I too aggressive? What level of Water clarity am I after? Seems like I’m grinding the sand with the water causing more settlements?

I don't think you're grinding it..... I usually just use the spout of the water hose and rinse drain rinse drain rinse drain until clear... if you want it clear it will take a while. I spent 40+ minutes for each 20lb bag of arag alive sand.

yes for sure. rinsed until this clean:



then you're free to work, scape, drop, dig, nothing clouds. the pre rinse for the win. the only sand we dont pre rinse is TBS live sand with actual wigglers.

also you will want to rinse out the sand with RODI water and some prime to help take out the metals left over from the tap water.
