Hey I'm new to reefing. I set up my first 40 gal reef tank this year. I am looking for a good sand sifter that won't cover corals with sand. Live stock wise I have a hippo tang, green coris wrasse, two Occelarris clowns and a lawnmower blenny. I'm trying to avoid adding anymore fish so inverts are preffered. Thanks.

If I have not already said Welcome to the REEF I say it now :)
I would stay away from sand sifting stars as they will just wind up eventually starving in your system. I always have liked Nassarius Snails as they keep the sand bed stirred but mostly eat meat left over from feeding rather than Algae. I am sure some other members will have some other suggestions as well.

I just picked up a tiger conch, have yet to see how it does with my sand bed but it sure is cool looking

I have one and it never burrows, still a very cool part of my CUC though. For sand sifting I stick with nassarius snails, those little buggers are awesome and move fast (like breeching submarines) as soon as food hits the tank.
