Sand sifting Goby

Hi, I have a well extablished 150 gal. tank. I'm concerned about this newer sand sifting goby. I have a Mandarine and would like a leopard wrasse but am worried there won't be enough pods. This guy is an eating machine. Opinions please? Thanks

So your Mandarin will definitely hunt for pods. The wrasse you want will eat pretty much any foods you place in your tank. In addition to that it will also hunt and find pods. Your Sandsifting Goby won’t make much of a dent in your pod population. I take the position that pods will outbreed the appetites of your pods eating fish. An established 150g….you’re good.

I put a diamond goby as one of my first fish in a new 110g reef fish in cycle. And he did fine. No pods at that point so you should be good. Just watch out if you have blasto’s, favia, or other corals on you sand. Keep them clear of sand if he starts piling it on. I have some that lost some heads because I didn’t catch it soon enough.
