Sand vacuum

what is a good vacuum for medium sized sand? I see tons of gravel vacs, but I want to just do sand, and even just let the water return to the tank. I usually use the long tube with the water change but end up losing some sand even pinching it. Just seeing if there is a good product out there to make this easier. Most times I just use a turkey baster to blast sand.

I usually just use an overly long hose and a gravel vac attachment. Creating lots of loops and kinks in the hose makes the suction weaker so not so much sand is lost
