What's everyone using for sand in their tanks nowadays? The last time I set up a new tank it was Southdown. Just curious, as I just placed an order for a 120 and other odds and ends.

I used to only use special grade but switched to reef flakes on my current tank. No sand storms at all from power heads. You see a little dust if you stir it up but it's not bad at all.

My current system is a combination of crushed coral and regular live sand from Carib sea. The tank i take possession of on Saturday is black sand. Not sure if i will keep it. We will see.

I love my black white mix. But I think I want to go for a more natural look next. White/pink maybe. Also going in a 120. Unfamiliar with crushed coral. Very interested in the feedback his gets. It’s a hard choice for sure.

I used pool filter sand that I rinsed for 20 min you can find it at ace hardware and I added some live sand with it
