I have live sand for my tank and wanted to add it before I do rock tomorrow. Will adding it to the tank kill the bacteria or what?

No as long as it says moist. But, I would put egg crate on the bottom of the tank, then add your rock (egg crate protects bottom panel of tank. Then had sand, because if you add sand first then your rock is supported by the sand. Any critters that sift/shift sand and cause the rocks foundation to move which causes rocks to fall.

I'm not worried about the rock structure. It will all be glued together.

The bag has a hole in it so I wanted to store it in the tank. Either way I'll move the sand around when I put the rocks in.

Yeah it doesn't really matter. I'd jus keep it moist to help the good bacteria in the sand.
