I filled and populated my first tank several months ago. I took the advice of the lfs and moved more quickly than was prudent so have been dealing with some issues. Those problems are slowly Being corrected. There was some live sand left over from that build which has been sitting it the open bag now for several months. Can that sand be safely used in another tank or should I just get fresh. I'm leaning towards fresh sand but.....

Thanks in advance for your well educated opinions.

The sand can be used, but the beneficial bacteria in the sand will have died off.

Simply wash it a few times with tap water and last couple of times with RODI water and it will be fine , as said above no bacteria in it , but will be fine too use ..!
