I'm really drawn to the red sea Reef Base Ocean White really fine sand.
I'm planning on doing a thin bed in my new tank.

I have read that alot of flow will keep sending clouds of it up or cause bare patches as it's too fine.
Anyone have any experience of this settling over time or any tips of how it can be used?

Any type of oolitic (fine) substrate will inevitably cause a cloud if flow is high.
IME it will shift until it finds an area of lower flow and will create a mound (same concept as sand dunes shifting). Best way to avoid this is by going to a heavier grain sand or aragonite, but again that's just my experience and opinion.

From my experience fine sand with strong flow is always disaster. Tank never cleans up clear.
These days I either choose coarse sand or bb
