Sand ?

I’m guessing I am getting sand? In the sump… first time with a sump setup. Is this sand ? and is it normal or any action needed? It is in three or the four chambers of the sump…

Could be that or could simply be detritus. I know some people clean it out. Some leave it. I leave it but I just make sure it’s not blocking anything critical if it gets too thick

I thought about that after… doesn’t look like my sand… guessing detritus like you said.

It looks "silty" like detritus or your salt is precipitating.

I would siphon it out - I like a clean sump & clean refugium.

I also use a filter sock on my salt mixing station. Many salts have some funk that doesn't dissolve.
