So in the almost 2 months my tank has been set up i have grown to hate my sand, it is the indo-pacific (i forgot the brand) but after a while it looks horrible, I want to switch to an all white aragonite sand, but i need suggestions on how to go about this, I dont really have anything to do with my livestock if this is going to cause another cycle peroid. Im probably going to do this tomorrow afternoon, so any advice would be helpful.

if youve got a few good size pieces of live rock in the tank you should be fine. try not to stir up the sand anymore than you have to. it wouldnt hurt to use the aragalive sand when you replace yours, its already wet so it wont cloud the tank and cause stress. it also is less likely to cause a mini cycle. good luck man

yeah im replacing like 4 lbs of my live rock at the same time, It just lace rock, and i want something.... less ugly. I may try the arag-alive then, if i can find what i want. Is there any specific sand i should use? Is crushed coral as good as sand?

Donny has some good stuff up at 5th day called fiji pink I believe.

I used fiji pink in my tank and it looks good, it is what I consider the best all around substrate and it is araganite. I would do just the sand first if you have an option. with that small of a tank I wouldnt remove the sand and add or remove any live rock to. maybe wait a week or two for the tank to stabilize before adding liverock
