Was wondering about putting a few inches of sand in my overflow. Thoughts?

The only issue that I can see would be when you need to do maintenance on the overflow stand-pipes for whatever reason. I have had to remove mine twice and that would have just dumped sand into my sump.

Thanks... Kinda figured :) maybe live rubble rock?
Same issue except the rubble will just keep you from replacing the stand-pipes. I think you are better off placing any extra rock or sand in the sump. I am assuming that you are looking to up your biological filtration. You could always place some ceramic biomedia plates in the overflow instead.

I saw some pods in there so thought of giving them a home lol but I'm sure they will work their way elsewhere :) and yes more fitration wouldn't hurt.
