lookin for a good sandsifter for a 150 gallon tank ! like to find one that doesn't get to big

I use a fighting conch for my 150, he is cool towatch and even gets the bottom glass. Mines pretty big about 4 inches.

Ya I've got a conch handful of nasarus and I'm thinkin of adding a sandsifting star. The conch is cool to watch but won't fix an algea problem if that's what ur after.

Mine eats algea on the sand and first inch or so of the side glass. It's cool to watch him reach up there to get it.

Just want to keep the sand lookin nice luckily I don't have any algae problems

Are you gonna feed the sandstar? If not he won't last long from what I read.

Rainsford and hectori stay small, but won't cover the whole tank.

Diamond and bullet gobies do a great job, but get large.

Most other sifters will bury low lying corals.

I recommend against sand sifting stars, they quickly deplete the beneficial microfauna. Just feeling the sand in a tank that has had a sifting star, it is silty and much more of a detritus trap than a tank without one.
