Hi.

New to the forum and fairly new to the saltwater hobby.

I currently have a fully cycled tank with livestock and did regret that I didn't add one more rock to my aquascaping.

I did actually find a rock at my local hardware store that was called Sansibar Rock that was very much like the Pukani rock and would fit well in my tank and livestock.

So the question is, do anyone have experience with this kind of rock?
More so I don't add anything that will screw up my water parameters.

The second question is adding rock that is considered "dead" (mined), does this need to cycle or will it start a cycle of it's own? Or is it no problem adding as it is, given that the rock itself isn't screwing up the pH etc.

Hmmm yeah your right that looks like your basic dry rock but nicer (google it), what was the cost?

Just to be on the safe side I would put it in a separate container and cycle it for 2 weeks and test for phosphates in that container prior to adding the rock to your tank.

Welcome to R2R. :-)
