Hi. My tank is a 36 gallon bowfront running for 2 years. Past lighting system was a dual CFL with actinic and full spectrum bulbs, and two Ecoxotic full spectrum stunner strips in a reflector hood. I just got the Current Orbit 24-36" LED system to replace the CFL because the bulbs have gotten really pricey.
Current corals: frogspawn, green mushrooms, duncan, zoas, hollywood stunner, turbinaria, blastomusas, GSP, and Pavona.
I have just used one of the default programs so far, but I'd like to shift the lighting to later in the day. I would like my tank to go dark around 10:00pm and work backwards from there. The room does not get a lot of natural light. Right now I have the stunner strips on a separate timer and coming on after the Orbit system has ramped up to its max.
Up until this point, I just had the timers on for about 8 hours of light and I have been getting good coral growth.
What would be a good program for these corals? I don't plan on adding any difficult SPS as I don't have a lot of luck with them and I understand my lights are underpowered to have any real success. My Cup corals are growing, though. Also, moonlight options?
Thanks so much. Just found this forum, and I'm excited to learn!
