So my Santa Monica drop is not growing chaeto. I am not sure what happened but it grew this slim that almost looks brownish pinkish. I am not sure if it is too much flow or not enough flow. i am attaching pics for suggestions on what to do? I just cleaned out today after 2 weeks nothing grew..

I could be wrong but I don't think it is supposed to. I thought it was just an algae scrubber.

Just keep it in. It's an algae scrubber, so it should grow hair algae or turf algae not chaeto.

not growing either one. its just a slime thats growing

Slime is normal depending upon how long it has been installed/how old your tank is. Like others stated it isn’t designed to grow chaeto, it’s a algae scrubber.

It’s been about 7-8 months

In the past it grew thick green slime algae not chaeto

It will NOT grow chaeto. It’s designed to grow a turf type algae to out compete nuisance algae in you tank as well as absorb nutrients. If you never grow algae it’s due to not enough nutrients or your lights are on too long/not long enough.
