Looking to purchase one for my AIO tank, wondering if anyone can chime in with the good, bad and ugly on these units. All videos I’ve seen all look to be rather promising.

I've heard not so good things. But, I've never had one! ClearWater seems to be the top notch scrubber... But how you would incorporate that into an AIO Idk. Have you ever seen that build thread where the guy DIY's one of his chambers into a scrubber?

No I’ve not seen that thread. I’ll try to find it

My scrubber is not actually a sm, but i ordered most of the parts from them. It works great, in fact im considering shutting it down. My nitrates are undetectable using a nyos test kit, and p04 the same using a hannah.

A good skimmer and dosing bacteria is better imo. Less hassle and works great in conjunction with bio blocks.

I liked mine. It is VERY important that you have and use a Super strong air pump for air delivery. I tried getting away with a Walmart unit. . .ha-ha.
Then got A GOOD Tetra dual outlet and algae galore !!

Based on SM responses on forums he definitely knows his stuff. For what you get I feel his scrubbers are crazy over priced. I understand it is a small niche market, but to replicate one of his scrubbers is not difficult or very costly.

Here, I do agree. With the .05 and 1.0, I see $15 of material for ten times that as sale price

For how inexpensive they are to make I am surprised no one has brought <$100 to market.

I’d say that’s the one thing holding me back is pricing. For the unit I chose is 179.99, 35.00 for pump and nearly 30.00 for shipping.

I've used them before the .2 and .6 drop models and they did work but just took forever to get going.

They are also super loud... as by even raising it, you still can clearly hear the bubbling sound. Theres also no quick disconnect on them which would have been nice. As servicing required me to pull out the whole unit, hose, wires n all.

Overall they do work, but I wouldn't purchase it again.
