Greetings,
I've got a beautiful little blue thing in my tank that have hitchhiked along with some of the other corals that I got, and as I understand it it's a Sarcothelia.
According to an article that I saw this little pretty thing is very invasive and should be removed.
As I think it´s so beautiful I would like to have your opinion about what I should do.
Right now I have this in three places in my tank (see markings on the picture below, is there anywhere you think that I could keep it (and keep and eye on it so it doesn't spread)?
If I have to remove all of it would it then be a good idea to place some Ricordea florida on the little rock in my lower left corner of the tank, or should I have something else there that could cover that rock?

Google blue clove polyp.

Quite beautiful. But it will spread across the tank. Not just grow over stuff like Xenia and Gsp spread and “weed corals”.

It’s a no joke hazard.

Double check the id (pic is a bit fuzzy)but....

I hope this pic is better.
So are you saying that I should remove all of it?

It sure is beautiful isn't it?

Kill it with fire.

It arrived in the early 90s (?).

From

"OMG my coral is breeding in my tank. This is so amazing!"

To

"It's *everywhere*! It's swallowing the other corals whole!"

In just a few years.

I agree with your first reaction but don't want to go thrue your second so now I've taken them out of the tank(hopefully)
I'll look for other corals with beautyful colors.

Lol, yeah, it really is beautiful.

A lot of people have had a long term problem with it.

I'm stupid. [emoji854] I still wanted to try it. It's pretty.

But conformation that it will climb up acros and other corals instead of just snuggling up to them was what finally detered me.

Hmm, I wonder, could it be a Sympodium that I have?
I don’t belive it’s a symphodium no.
But there are several types of blue cloves.
Def look of some pictures of over run tanks. There are some extremely subtle details you’ll need to see.

If the picture in the 3rd post is from your own tank then it is the classic and beautiful BCP.

I wouldn't wait to long to remove it.

Lol, I still want to do a nano with colorful majano, zenia and BCP.
Just terrified of cross contamination with the main tank.

Yes, that pic is from my tank. I did take it out the other day and put it in the trash but then someone said that it wouldn't cross the sand so I put it in again. But now you've convinced me, it out of the tank!
Thanks for all help and input in this [emoji4]
