Just a Saturday morning test day reminder....check those test kit expiration dates!

I discovered this morning I have been using expired ca and mg expired reagents!!
Fortunate for me I had the refills here and the results were close so no harm done.

LOL, it’s funny that you bring this up - I’m on my way over to Wetpets to get some new test cause a couple expired on me.

I recently bought an alk reagent refill for my Hanna and it expires in October, how long have you guys that have been using it for longer expected them to last?

I run through the alk reagent in about 8moths but it should last about a yr. I recall a few threads sometime ago with regards to laying the actual reagent on its side due to the fact that the bottle didn’t seal correctly and allowed air in the reagent to leak causing erroneous readings.

All I can say here is one of my test kits was a year expired(hiding my face!!)and the results between that and the new reagents was very minimal.

It's strange, I get into routines to do this, that and everything else with respect to running my reef tank but when it comes to checking those expiration dates.....tilt!
