So two months ago I got two Bartlett Anthias (male/female) and a male lyretail. Everything was going really well until around last week. I lost all three!? No where to be found! I looked EVERYWHERE for them; both in and OUT of the tank. So I blamed my Blue Terror (hippo tang) for their loss. Then I had a huge nitrate spike, lost a few cornbread acan heads, and my mystic monti started receding. so thinking I lost all three to a murdeous tang I did a massive WC and everything went back to normal over the next few days....but never found the fish or fish-bits during the WC. Needless to say this made me go through one of those “tank-funks” that make you not want to look or interact with your tank! Then this morning I decide to get my coffee and assess any new damage with a recovering heavy-heart. Then low and behold I notice one of the Bartletts out!? It was like seeing a ghost! I was so glad one of them survived! So I decided to get my flashlight and see if BY CHANCE any more of the missing anthias we’re alive. As soon as I shined the light in the rock work I see the other two hiding! Not sure what caused this change of behavior or how they hid so well for well over a week (even during feeding). Anyways; thought I would share this story and also if anyone has any similar ones to tell!
