Satwater Aquarium Cycling question

If I were to take some of my sand out of cycled tank and possibly some rock how quick would it cycle and be fish ready? I don't want to rush it too fast. It will be a 75 gallon, and I could use some water from water changes also.

It might speed up your cycling process by a couple weeks, but you'll still have to go through all the steps - slowly. The Mature Aquarium

Yea I am trying to get the 75 ready so I can house all the fish a guy is wanting to give away. It would be a good thing for me since planning the big tank that way I would have a cycled tank to use as quarantine. I Have the big skimmer I was going to run. Found me a sump and filter and powerheads hopefully too. I thought about just running a barebottom quarantine tank but would rather just set up a tank with rock and everything since it will be running for several months.

If you plan on medicating, the BB would be best otherwise it would take a lot to be able to reuse the rocks down the road.

I hope to not have to medicate.lol. I think if I had to medicate would do so in another tank for now since plan this one to run until get the big one completely cycled.

Ah. I would definitely look into Dr. Tim's one and only as a booster for cycling anything.

Ok I will look at that. In the past I always used fish to cycle tank but I have learned that is not the correct way.
