Does anyone else sit and try to save amphipds/copepods from the excess Chaeto before toss out (into the compost)
I sit by the sump for 30 minutes pouring water on the chaeto and using a turkey basket and siphon them back into the sump.
It's oddly relaxing. Anyone?

I never have but if it's relaxing/destressing I may have to try it.
It is and I feel bad just toss just killing dozens of copepods for some reason.
Maybe because I paid for them? They are fish food? Or just reef tank karma?

While I do not sit and pick them out, I will shake my harvest into the display for some free fish food.

My fish go into a feeding frenzy during this time.
That makes sense. Do you like submerge the chaeto and give it some swishes and squeezes to loosen everything?

It's like trying to read line 8 on the DMV eye test for me but I still try to save the little guys.
