Saw my tuxedo urchin doing this today..

Not exactly sure but I suspect it’s releasing either sperm or egg in an attempt to reproduce. Kind of neat to see nature do its thing. Does anyone know for sure this is what it is doing, and is it possible to reproduce in a tank? If so do I need another urchin?
