I’ve move out of my condo and into a houses. I’m currently setting up my 156 gallon (48 X 30 X 24) in the basement of the new house and I’ll start transferring things soon. It’s much faster than I’d like, but the new owners take possession of the old condo on June 15, so I’m forced to rush things.

The tank is a custom rimless peninsula by @PlanetAquariums. I’m building the stand so it exactly fits IKEA cabinet fronts that I’ll use to create the cabinetry. Most of my same equipment from my 210 is coming over, but I got a new sump from Bashsea.

The tank is located in a laundry room/workshop rather than showcased in my house. At this point, this hobby is for me and I’m just looking for efficiency. I have a tiled floor, drain, mop sink, all in the same room.

Much more to come…..

By the way, I got that tank on the stand all by myself tonight!

My response in your other thread was supposed to be here.....

Good luck with the transfer ;)

Well, about 80% of my coral is moved. It’s not as fun to set up a new when it’s already overcrowded from the start! There’s going to be a lot of live rock in the sump!

Meanwhile, Milton is not stoked that his cave of two years is gone. He’s going back to his former owner and making a move to N Carolina. I can’t deal with his nitrates any longer.

Nice work! The new tank is looking great.

Piece by piece, month by month the reef will come together. I’m piecing not only the tank but fish room as well over here post-move.

Hoping the acros stay happy! : )

I got the 210 completely shut down tonight and all of the fish are moved. Since my new tank is a little smaller, I gave away my hippo tang and Milton (zebra moray) is going back to his former owner. For the next couple weeks, he’ll live in my sump until he makes his journey to North Carolina.

Can’t wait to see the new tank! I’m sure it will be even better than the last one you had

Half of the fam has covid so we’re stuck in the house and I’ve mad a little progress. I got the sump mostly set up and most of the plumbing done. I still need the emergency drain set up, but I cannot ever imagine a circumstance I’d need one. Between the herbie and the durso that just has a trickle going through it, the is about a zero % chance I’d need an emergency drain…and I’m kinda sick of being high from PVC glue.

Anyway, the sump is looking good and I’ve never had better wire management. All wires go up the red PVC to the cabinet above. No more working on my knees!

We’ll, change of plans…..As I started to aquascape this thing, I realized that I hate the tank because of the four foot length. So…..I’ve ordered a 72X32X24 peninsula from Crystal Dynamics. I will limp this 4 ft tank along for a few months until I get the six footer, but won’t be doing any aquascaping or permanent coral placement.

Anyone in the Chicago want to buy a 48X30X24 rimless peninsula with starphire on three sides and an external overflow? I paid well over $3K for it and I’d sell for $2K.

love the peninsula style tanks and definitely better to upgrade now.

How’s the build going?

Limping the 156 along. I lost some stuff, but some stuff is alive. I got a package this morning, so I’ll be starting a new thread soon!
