I have an SB Reef Light and im wondering about my SPS and LPS corals. Does anyone know how intense I need to go for my corals? When i initially put it on from a T5 my setosa started bleaching. I have it on the bluest it can go. Is it something I just need to work with?

I have the wifi one so I don't know if it's the same but I'll upload my settings for ya. I have it at the max height, without the hanging kit.

I have the mars aqua units that I modded very closely to the SB reeflights diode layout. They don't ramp up, but the max settings for mine are 50% blues and 30% whites. I'm at 13" above water line.

I suggest you measure your light intensity using a par meter or using a lux meter applying the conversion lux to par :

( I used 65:1 ratio) and following Dana riddles 2016 Macna speaker presentation guide on par.

This way you know how much par is reaching your corals now and just how much you need to adjust intensity going forward.

Where'd you find that lux par chart ?danas article?

Fwiw. At a 1:1 it's generally about 60. Matches almost exactly most of the fixtures manufactures par specs I either own or have researched.

For the op, I run my 30cube (20x20x18) at 35000 lux, 1:1 , 6hr orak peak. 13 hr total.
Probably just a bit much but. It works.

The SB reef get some pretty crazy hot spots. The answer totally depends on distance of the coral from the light fixture, and placement in reference the to fixture.

Pull the lenses and the hot spots are way less!

Check out his SB to kessil swap. Well done and the Par numbers are really well laid out. The soot is in the middle like a lot of them. But some use that to punch the bottom harder in a deep tank.
That way the back wall doesn't fry.

Agreed, you can use hotspots to your advantage. I did in my DT.

You lose PAR though. :(
Not much Esp if the light is close.
Plus it's so punchy it's actually overkill for Most folks anyway.
I pulled only about half.

With all the lenses at 100% and 12 in it was pretty close to 100,000 lux.(1500 par)
My ai sol were 120,000.
I'll remeter next week with the new ones I got a deal on get here.
:)
