Hello,

I've had the sbreef ultra over my tank for a few weeks now. The problem I'm having is that my sps are starting to turn whitish and my zoas are browning and staying closed. The Lps seem fine except my Duncan which is staying closed during peak hrs. Someone said to start out at 10% white 30% blue so I used the excel spreadsheet that gives the ramping schedule and these values as the peak %. Since then I've decreased my whites to 4% blues to 30% uv to 100% and warm whites 4% peak values. I'm afraid my corals are not going to last at this rate. Do you have any idea what I can do? Btw my light is approximately 18 inches above a 40 breeder. I use to have a single rapidled Corona at the same height blues 50%, whites 15%.
Thank you

What I would do is start them out at bare minimum. Then every couple weeks, turn them up just slightly so the coral can adjust

The min peak % you can use is 4%. Should I start all channels at 4%? Also should I use the excel spreadsheet to formulate my lighting schedule or just have 8 to 10 hrs including ramp up and down?

Thank you

I started with just blue till they get used to it....after a couple times of ramping the intensity up I then added white at lowest setting

Okay thanks. I'll decrease it tomorrow when I'm home. How do you know when you have gotten to the correct intensity?

It might be a bit before you. Corals open up normally...once they do, then let them adjust, then like I mentioned slowly ramp up intensity. When your corals start bleaching or start become white, you have gone to far. U gotta just see where your corals like it at
