Hey guys, I know there are several threads about LED vs. T5. However, I have a little more specific question.
Right now I'm using two 16" SB Reef Lights along with two T5s for supplemental lighting. Growth has been ok (not great), but for some reason the coloring of both the coral and visually just doesn't seem to work for me (especially the visual part). The white on my SB Reef Lights is so bright, I have to keep it at around 10-12% otherwise it'll wash out both the blue (I keep my blues at around 35%) from the LED as well as the blue from the T5 supplements I have. Now don't get me wrong, I like my SB Reef Lights for several reasons, but I'm curious what you guys think:
Can I do something better than I am with my current setup OR would it be better to do the inverse of what I'm doing now and get a 4 bulb T5 fixture with LED supplement bars?
