Sbreef question

I tried contacting sbreef about this but they won’t respond which is a little disheartening. I purchased a used 60” sbreef actinic bar. It’s less than one year old (I know because I bought it from a buddy and I remember when he ordered it).

The shield has dark black burn spots and cracks over all the 420 diodes. Anyone experience this?

Can I remove the acrylic shield or maybe dremmel cut holes out over the violet diodes so the light actually makes it to the tank. As of now the light is almost blocked entirely.

i read about this from couple other folks in local forums. They just drilled holes under that diode

I have seen this before, its common with UV, purple and 420nm diodes. They will need ro be replaced.

I noticed the same probablem. They’re 10 months old. I think they should use glass instead.

This is a very common issue, they are aware of it, and they DO NOT care about you, the customer!

They removed the customer service number! There is NO customer service now!

This is a very common issue, they are aware of it, and they DO NOT care about you, the customer!

I gave up long ago. They’re working fine right now. If they work as long as they should, great. If one does. Orphek it is.

What about the burning of the LEDs??

Cheap acrylic will burn from 420 nm light no matter what. Once these get burn spots I’ll Drill holes.
