SC Aquariums 50 gallon PNP

Good. Down near the green polyps on the right. Leave the rainbow monti where you have it. Watch the bare spots on the one moved. If it grows hair algae on it, gently pluck it off w/ tweezers and maybe a very light touch of superglue to seal the bare skeleton. Keep your eye on it. That puffer is a camera still pic ham for sure. Reading some tunze ato stories the past week. Nice score again on the spectra. Your sump will not flood from the ato, unless two separate snails plug each air tube simultaneously. My brain would explode figuring those odds.

Thanks for the help! I will keep an eye on it and you can bet I will be sure to post pics as time goes by. And I agree it's unlikely but still possible. A more likely scenario would be one of the kids, or animals for some reason yanking on the sensor tubing and the sensor coming dislodged, thus making the ATO stay on. They would never ever do that on my watch! I can bet you that. But with mom all bets are off! Haha.

Yes, the little children. Mine know to look, no touch. They will sit on the water change buckets about a foot away. They also respect the no fingerprint rule on the glass. Another apex plus, door alarm. I imagine mine will be the ghost busters ambulance siren with strobing red LEDs lighting up the room. That should scare the turd out of them.

Wish I could teach my significant other and other adults the no fingerprint rule! Maybe I need some signage? Haha.

What really helped was when I cut the strait part out of a plastic coat hanger. Take turns using it to point things out against the glass and ask questions. Adults, urgh, forget it. My gfriend says she can see my jaw clench across the room lol.

Bought some more corals! Ok this is the last time for a while, for sure for sure now. Had my eyes on either a bleeding apple or reverse bleeding apply scoly and said it would find me.

I saw a few at aquashella. This one was already sold. I asked the seller how much does it run and he said $750. I was like hmm it's nice but not $750 nice.

Seen a couple similar ones for $200-250 online.

Anyway, bought this one from TL Reefs. Great customer service. Whoever helped me spent quite a bit of time and showing me corals I wanted to see and letting me know sizes and what not.

I like that it has some blues and purples. At $250 the price was right!

These were supposed to be pink lady Zoa's but he said they morphed on him. Still decided to get them.

Nem was hungry today. I gave it a little squirt of some reef food. It wanted seconds apparently.

Also @Nanofan12 told me my frogspawn is actually a torch! I still like it though. I think that it is indeed a torch. May be why it doesn't open up all the time. Probably fighting with the hammer? I'll move it by the other torch.

I'm the breadwinner and manage all the finances (as well as pay all the bills) in the household. I'm just not the type of person to keep things from my girl though.

She was looking at some shoes for work for herself and she goes they are too much. They are $50. She also mentioned she like a purse that was $100. We are complete opposites. She never spends on high end stuff nor does she care about brands. I told her I'd send her $250 since I spent $250 on this coral. But that she couldn't give me a hard time about how much I spend on corals haha. And that she had to buy the purse she wanted and the shoes she needs.

She then became real interested in the tank all of a sudden. She pointed at my duncans and said oh those are pretty. I hadn't seen that one before. It looks like a flower. She asked if the Leptastrea would get any bigger. She seemed disappointed that it didn't have bigger polyps. I explained to her that it's basically an SPS (I know technically LPS) because of it's small polyps and that the polyps likely stay that size while the whole coral may eventually spread. I showed her that the mushroom we have has two heads/mouths and she was like wow cool. She even sat and watched a video on Euphillia sweeper tentacles with me.

So turns out she is 10x's more interested in the tank when I'm sending her money haha. Oh well, what can you do? She deserves to get some goodies once in a while too.

Haha, we have a slightly different system, but I hear ya. I bring in the vast majority of our income. Every payday, my wife takes most of the money out of my account, and puts it in our joint account. I basically get an "allowance" from my own check :p I love it, though. She organizes and pays the bills, and I don't get grilled on the aquarium and disc golf stuff I buy. It's worked for us for almost 18 years.

Beautiful coral you picked up!

Hey whatever works! My girl has always told me as long as I am not spending my money on drugs she doesn't care. I'm always home and I don't go out much so there are a lot worse things that I can get into than servers, IP cameras, guitars (I never was any good but had about 5 at one point lol), and of course fish tanks.

My girl came back with 2 Michael Kors purses, 1 Alda purse, and some new flats for work. I'm actually happy she got them. She never really uses name brand purses so glad to see she got some nice stuff. I know some purses can go into the thousands so I'm glad she's not very materialistic though lol.

Awesome scoly man!! I’m so jealous!! That’s such an amazing price on that one.

Right! I'm thinking it's one of the nicest ones I've seen. Especially for a bleeding apple one. I'm thinking because it's not perfectly round but I don't care. It has a little bit of character and I think it looks sick!

Wow I checked out that shops site, such good deals. You should buy this acan mini colony next ! Lol. This thing is sick!

For some reason I'm not much into acans. I think next up is SPS lol. Acans just don't do anything for me at the moment. I'm starting to appreciate some of the SPS though. But going to let things chill for a bit. Hopefully a lot longer than a week this time haha.

dang man, it took me a long time to get into the SPS lol. first 6 months or so i was like ehh colors are cool, but no movement? Meh.

but then i made the mistake of going to RAP, and they still weren't moving... but oh my the colors!!!! lol. must've been your recent trip to aquashella. those coral shows are the worst for your wallet

i just picked up an ice fire enchinata so we'll see how that one goes. my newbie sps are doing pretty decent, but this is my first acro so..

Lol you know me, I definetly have taken the express train on this while reefing thing.

Wow!!! I just looked through my picture and in about 16 hours it will be one month since I got my first coral. A $250 torch at that haha. Not counting the macro algea frag of course.

Tank is a couple days from being 4 months old. I better hold my horses on this while SPS train lol.

haha dang man jumping into the deep end right away. i still refuse to spend more than $50 on a coral because I just don't have the confidence that it'll live lol.

idk, the advice i got on sps was get a cheap tester frag here and there to see how it does. doesn't your monti look like it's doing well? it looked like your leptastrea was the one on the struggle bus, so you might be good to go on the sps train

It's so hard to see the monti based on where it is at. May try to move it to a spot I can see it better.

Not great pics but I think it's doing it's thing.

Laptastrea

I think it's looking pretty good. But we'll see. I don't know much about it yet.
